Kinetic Sculpture Starr Kempf (USA)


Rebellious sculptor StarrKempf died in 1995, but its shiny metal sculptures can be seen today on the territory of Kempf House, next to the playground.

Kempf was a famous American sculptor, among whose works dominated by abstract metal statues depicted in motion. His first sculpture, he began to cast in bronze in 1955, and then selling them to collectors from the United States. The idea to create kinetic sculptures came to him in 1977, and the creation of each such sculpture he needed to spend about three years.

Especially surprising his work look, when the wind blows, because then if the sculpture come to life and begin to move. From futuristic birds to undulating spiers - Starr Kempf imagination was not limited by anything.


It is worth noting that the American sculptor and made more "dark" work, which apparently reflected the black bars that have become prevalent in his life. In 1995, unable to cope with depression, Starr Kempf left the life.
The yard, which houses works Kempf, became a local landmark, and his daughter, now personally conducting tours both admirers of her father, and tourists who decided to just look at the unusual sculptures. Unfortunately, on the complaint of the other heirs of three sculptures have been removed, but most of them still remained in their original locations.
